Celebrate the rock n roll years and remember the dance hall days with a new tour hosted by George Jones.
The show will be coming to Theatre at the Mill on Friday February 24 at 7.45pm.
From the producers of ‘Do You Come Here Often’ and after two sell out tours, George Jones will host a brand new show celebrating songs from the 50s and 60s.
Featuring the music of iconic stars such as Bobby Darin, Bobby Vee, Neil Sedaka, Patsy Cline, Dusty Springfield and Petula Clark to the early Rock ‘n’ Roll songs from Elvis and the Four Seasons.
Starring Clubsound, Joe Mac, Margo Burns, Janet McCartney and Trevor Kelly, this is a celebration of music not to be missed!
George Jones is indisputably one of Northern Ireland’s most accomplished all round entertainers. Best known as a showband legend, TV and radio presenter, comedian and after dinner speaker, he began his career as a member of the band the Monarchs which included his boyhood friend, Van Morrison, with whom he toured Europe.
In fact for over 20 years, George has played in Birgitz, Austria with the “Irish Band”, where they were awarded the prestigious award of Citizens of the Village.
A natural comic with a very unique and distinctive style of wit, he has developed a reputation as the funniest man in Ireland since the late great James Young. Awarded the prestigious Sony Radio Award for best regional radio presenter, George has continued to combine his razor sharp wit with his natural musical talent much to the delight of countless fans throughout Ireland.
George has vast experience as a radio presenter and currently hosts Downtown Radio’s Drivetime Show.
In addition to his many stage and radio successes, George has also hosted BBC Northern Ireland’s most successful ever television game show – Town Challenge.
For over 15 years George has been the Compere to the very successful “ Do You Come Here Often “ show, the tribute to the showband years.
