SPORTS AWARDS: Boxer Roy Webb inducted into Hall of Fame

Former boxer Roy Webb has been inducted into Mid and East Antrim Borough Council's Larne Sporting Hall of Fame.

The Commonwealth Games silver medallist was given the accolade at the town’s annual Sports Awards, held in the McNeill Theatre, on Friday evening.

Webb punched his way through the amateur ranks and had many notable moments with the 1982 Brisbane Games the highlight. He went on to turn professional, fighting in 18 bouts, winning 16, drawing one, and losing just one.
