Local sides aim for Foyle Cup silverware

A number of Ballymena-based teams remain in the hunt for silverware as the Foyle Cup nears its conclusion.

While the main trophies in the various age groups have eluded local sides, a number of Ballymena teams have reached the latter stages of the subsidiary competitions.

Ballymena United are in the semi-finals of the Under-14 Shield competition today (Friday), when they take on Mid Ulster at Strathfoyle (3pm).

At the same time, Wakehurst Youth take on Coleraine in an Under-16 Vase semi-final at Vale.

And at 5pm, Carniny Youth have a Vase semi-final tie against Drumkeen at Prehen in the under-12 category.
