Teen seriously injured after gang forces way into Larne home

Detectives are appealing for information following the aggravated burglary that occurred in the Exchange Road area in the early hours of this morning.

Around 12.20am, a number of men entered a house and assaulted a 19-year-old male. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are described as serious but not life threatening.

A woman, aged in her 20s, and a baby were in the house at the time but were not injured.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact detectives at Larne Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 31 of 29/06/16.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
