Banbridge Historical Society’s Annual Outing this year is to the beautiful Cooley Peninsula and Greenore. The outing is fully booked and there is a waiting list.

A bus will leave Banbridge Leisure Centre at 9 30 am on Thursday 4th June and travel to the Greenore Museum for morning coffee.

In the past sailing on a ship that set out from Greenore was quickest way to get from Belfast to London’s Euston Station. As a result Greenore was a transport hub with express trains arriving Belfast timed to connect with the ferry that sailed at 8 00pm. The Museum promises to provide a very interesting visit.
