Wheelers compete at Phoenix Grand Prix

FOUR Bann Wheelers riders competed in the Phoenix Grand Prix last Sunday, with Gary Kendall, Robert Kennedy and Bryan Mc Kinney lining up in the men's senior event and Kay Hack participating in the women's race.

The men’s race came down to a bunch sprint with Gary Kendall producing a fast finish to take ninth place. Bryan Mc Kinney also produced a fantastic ride in his first open race, finishing in the first half of the lead group. Robert Kennedy also finished in this lead group.

Kay Hack competed well in the women’s race and claimed a top 10 finish.

Bann Wheelers Cycling Club congratulate Bobby Kane of Ballymoney Cycling Club for his victory at the Phoenix GP.

* The club’s weekly training run meets at the Strand Service Station on the Strand Road in Coleraine on Saturday mand Sunday at 9am, weather permitting.

Two training groups will cycle approximately 50 miles, the first will average approximately 18-19mph and the second, 16-17 mph. Everyone will be made welcome
