WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL: Causeway Wheelies programme launched

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, in conjunction with Disability Sport Northern Ireland, is piloting a new initiative with the introduction of the Causeway Wheelies Basketball Programme.

The new project, which is the first of its kind in the area, aims to teach participants the skills of wheelchair basketball which is a hugely popular sport throughout the world.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council recently received new disability sports equipment, including sports wheelchairs, from Disability Sport Northern Ireland.

The Wheelies programme begins on Wednesday 24th January from 7pm to 8.30pm at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney. It is open to anyone with a physical disability aged from 7 to seniors. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend without a disability who can also take part. Each session will cost £2.
