Meat remained on menu

The North Eastern Education and Library Board said that it had no plans to remove beef from the menu at schools in the area.

The board said that all meat supplied to local schools had been stringently monitors by the Department of Agriculture.

The spokesperson added that the inspectors had expressed satisfaction at the standards that were being maintained.

They added that there had been no great level of concern expressed by parents in the region, with only one mother in the area asking for her child not to have meat.

Other meat-free options were available.
