On what was a balmy summer’s evening, David Noble was 44th in a time of 1:28:52. He was followed by Thomas Craig in 64th (01:31:38). Bobby Boal notched a fantastic new personal best of 01:37:10 to claim 106th.

Emily Boal, not to be outdone by Bobby, also landed a new personal best of 02:03:47 and 473rd position.

Andrew Davidson, a newcomer to Larne AC, was running his fourth half-marathon of the season and he took 541th with a time of 02:09:34. Another frequent half-marathon runner, Norma Johnston, was next home with a superb time of 2:19:55 in 621st.

Elsewhere, Larne Athletic Club runners were among the prize-winners as the East Antrim Harriers Trail Series came to an end in midweek.

Janine Rainey and Charlie Meban won the Female Vet50 and Male Vet65 categories respectively, with both athletes having won four out of four races in the series. And, although not present for the last race, Erin Beattie can be very pleased having secured a series win in the Junior Female category.

The race, which took place in warm conditions over an undulating four-and-a-half-mile course around Woodburn Forest, attracted over 170 participants.

Martan Keane finished first for Larne, taking fifth overall in 27:18. Andy Gregg in eighth was first Vet45 in a time of 27:44. Nigel Kane was 15th, timing 28:18. Charlie Meban was 60th (33:28) and Dan Magill, 70th (33.58).
