Goals from Leah Craig, Gillian Russell and Leigh Snoddy saw Larne Ladies fight back from two down to claim a 3-2 win over Omagh on Saturday.

The victory means it’s 10 points out of 12 so far this season for the local side.

Omagh began brightly and their early efforts were rewarded when Larne keeper Trish Neill brought down an Omagh forward, giving away a penalty stroke which they made no mistake in converting.

With Larne pressing for an equaliser it was against the run of play that Omagh got their second. An unlucky deflection off a Larne foot in the circle sent the ball flying into the bottom corner of the goal.

However, the home side soon pulled a goal back with Craig smashing the ball into the back of the net from a well-worked penalty-corner. Larne continued to dominate and this time it was Russell who slotted the ball in for the equaliser before the break.

Spurred on, Larne began the second half as they finished the first and, as they continued to press the Omagh team. They and were soon rewarded with another penalty-corner from which Snoddy fired a powerful drag flick into the top corner - a real contender for goal of the season so far.

Omagh started to pile players forward but Rebecca Dalton, who was having an excellent game, made some brave last-ditch tackles.
