Larne lost 6-1 to Ewarts in their Private Greens League Division 1 at the weekend.
Jason Kerr’s rink got off to a great start and led 15-8 just after the half way stage but it was Ewarts who fought back to edge to a 22-20 success.
On rink 2, Andy Kyle’s men were trailing 13-6 after nine ends but they responded in superb style, running out 22-15 winners.
Michael Murphy’s rink had a difficult start against their opponents on rink 3 by going 16-4 behind after 10 ends. Murphy threatened a comeback by reducing the deficit to six with seven to play but Ewarts slowed their momentum and went on to secure a 20-17 win.
On rink 4, Alan McLean’s rink were in a difficult position as they found themselves 16-8 down with six ends to play. Counts of 3, 3, 2 for the Larne rink over the next three ends turned the match on its head and brought them back to 16-16 with 3 to play. The fightback wasn’t to be although as the Ewarts rink scored a 3, 2 and a 1 over the final 3 ends to win 22-16.
Larne were due to host Mossley on Tuesday evening.
