Rockmount Rollers cycle Lap the Lough

Nine Rockmount members took part in the 85 mile cycle around Lough Neagh on 30th August to raise funds for The Friends of the Cancer Centre.

All the team made it around the Lough with the exception of Barry Douds who after 50 miles had to withdraw due to a knee injury. Up to that point Barry was looking strong.

Peter O’Hara said: “Once we got going, the weather was fine and the route was reasonably flat except for a few hills and with over 2,000 cyclists, the craic was great.”

Club Captain, Eddie Donaldson was a few miles from the finish when he blew a hole in a tyre wall and had to complete the journey on a flat tyre - a few extra calories burned there.
