Cave is new home for turkey

Stephen was two under his card for the front eight and on the back eight, with the help of birdies at the fifteenth and sixteenth; he went a further three under. Herbie McCook, playing off nine, was second with 35 points. Herbie produced a tame 13 points for the front eight but his performance level rose on the back eight amassing 22 points and shooting two under gross. Morris Peden (12) was third with 35 points.

In Division Two Charles Hamill playing off sixteen was triumphant with 35 points. His superior back eight of eighteen points was enough to relegate Peter Whittaker, playing off fifteen, into second place, he also had 35 points. Peter produced his finest golf over the front eight but his back eight was still enough to relegate Charles McKane (22) into third place as he also had 35 points. Once again Robert McNeill produced an excellent performance winning the gross prize with 32 gross points.

On Sunday it was the turn of Neilly Greer who, playing off ten, produced a magnificent display of golf shooting 45 points. Neilly dropped just four shots all day but these were offset by three excellent birdies. Michael Liken, playing off five, was in fine fighting form picking up second prize with 38 points - his excellent play, especially on the back, shooting two under gross, was just enough to hold off Ian Morrison (5) whose one under for the back nine meant he was beaten on countback and had to settle for third. Steven Bell was the beneficiary of the gross prize with a round of 78.
