Gary’s win gives St Colman’s two shot success

It was all square at the break in this Section B league match and the second half games were shared but Gary McWilliams’ three shot win gave St Colman’s Lambeg a two shots win over Rock.

Frank Agnew won seven of the first eight ends to lead 10-1, but Frank Cunningham lifted a five.

James Burns started with a four but he was 10-5 down to Michael Reid at the eighth before St Colman’s added a single.

John Cushnahan started with a four, but Lawrence Long came back with two, three, one, one before four singles gave Rock a one shot win.

A three helped Tom Cushnahan to a 7-2 lead at the fifth but Gary McWilliams finished with two, two, three, one to get the vital three shots victory.

Down 2-5 at the sixth and 3-6 at the eighth to J. Green, Ken Armstrong finished with a double but lost by a shot.

A four, a five and a three helped Thelma Irwin to a 15-0 lead at the sixth and after Hall McCourt lifted a single Sloan Street finished with five, two to win by 21 shots.

At the fourth Mairs Stevenson was 5-1 up but a five at the sixth put Stephen Irwin 7-5 ahead and 9-6 with an end left when Pond Park lifted a double.

At the third Vera McCourt was 3-2 ahead but by eight ends A. Loughlin was 10-3 up though Pond Park add a four at the last end.
