Garvey are no fall guys and keep up Lisburn’s Cup hopes
Lisnagarvey were the only local team to record an Irish Cup second round win on Saturday when they overcome a tricky trip to Falls and won by nine shots.
They now play Shaftesbury in the next round and the only other local team in the third round of the Junior Cup are Lagan Valley, who had a second round bye.

Hide AdAfter starting with a three Neil Mulholland was 9-0 up at the fifth and he added another three to lead 15-6 at 12 ends. It was 16-10 at 16 ends and Garvey took the remaining ends to win by 12 shots.
David Boal was 7-17 down at 14 ends and though Garvey lifted a three and came back slightly but still lost.
Lifting a five, Noel Graham was 9-5 ahead at the seventh and 15-12 at 14 ends. Garvey were 15-22 down at 19 ends and lost by five shots.
By 14 ends Ivan Craig was 8-12 down but he lifted two fives to lead 19-12 at 17 ends. Garvey finished with four, one to win by ten shots.

During the week before, Garvey travelled to Balmoral for the second time in three days and lost again, 76-62 in the second round of the NIBA Senior Cup.

Maurice Kirkwood was the only Hilden winner when they went down by 26 shots away to NICS in the second round of the Irish Senior Cup.

Tie end agony for Dromore

Hide AdDromore lost at a tie end to Kilrea in the second round of the Irish Cup at Holm Park on Saturday.
When the shots were added up at 21 ends, it was discovered the teams were level.
An extra end across the green had to be played and Kilrea went through.
During the week, Dromore lost by a shot to Portadown in the NIBA Senior Cup.
