Wray frustrated with life at Riverside Stadium

INSTITUTE’S Thomas Wray believes the club need to sort the managerial position out sooner rather than later.

The defender, who admits he’s too afraid to look at the Ladbrokes.com Championship One table, is hoping their change in fortune is only around the corner.

“To be honest I haven’t even looked at the table because I’m afraid to look at the table,” he declared.

“The last time I did look at it we were well down there, I think third or fourth from bottom and we haven’t won many games since then.

“All the rumours going on about Paul Kee coming in, personally I wish the club would sort it out, appoint someone quickly, because we are now well past the half-way point of the season and we only have a handful of games left and we need to start picking up points or this club is going to go down another division, because that is how it’s looking at the minute.

“You think to yourself that there is no chance that can happen, but that is the way it’s looking at the minute and it’s so frustrating.

“Allan Blair is in there at the minute but I feel the club need to either appoint somebody or get him a number two, just make things clear and get it sorted out early because we really can’t afford to lose many more games.”

The ex-Dungannon Swifts man was bitterly disappointed to lose at title chasing Dergview on Saturday and in his opinion ‘Stute could have taken something from the game.

“Their first goal was a wonder goal, maybe we could have got closer to him, but I think if you give him another ten shots like that then he would probably not have scored again; even at 2-0 down at half-time I was in the dressing room encouraging people because I still thought we could have got back into the game.

“The last game or two we had stopped playing as well as we were doing, but I felt on Saturday at Dergview particularly in the first half hour we were playing well, in fact we were all over them, but then as I have said they scored a wonder goal, but a lapse of concentration just before half-time cost us a second goal.

“To be honest I don’t know what happened, the ball was crossed in and maybe (Graham) Crowner could have done better to prevent the goal, but I still felt even at 2-0 down we could have done a whole lot better.

“I say it every single week to whoever is up front, to hit a shot, you saw on Saturday, Ruairi (McClean), Adam (Clarke) and Mark (Nicell) scored a cracker from just shooting at goal. I think we are trying to walk it in too many times and it’s so frustrating.”
