Small-sided games consultation workshop in Cookstown

THIS week, the Irish FA held a consultation workshop in Cookstown on the implementation of a small-sided games strategy in Northern Ireland.

The Association recently announced that a number of consultation workshops would take place across the country. The purpose of the workshops is to give volunteers involved in youth football the chance to give feedback to the Irish FA on the small-sided games proposals which include reducing the number of children playing the game from 11-a-side, to 5, 7 and 9-a-side teams.

Irish FA Grassroots Development Officer, Ciaran Donaghy said: “I was delighted with the turnout at the consultation workshop in Cookstown and the feedback will be very important when developing our strategic document for the implementation of small-sided games in Northern Ireland.”
