North West sides are looking for Irish Junior Cup success

The Irish Junior Cup takes centre stage this weekend.

Six local sides have tough ties on Saturday, while in the Premier Division Irish Street host Newbuildings Utd Res, Claudy Rovers entertain Caw and Foyle Wanderers visit Lincoln Courts.

Ardmore v Enniskillen Santos

The home side have hit a bad patch in recent weeks losing their last two games. However, they have an excellent record in this competition and they will be looking to progress.

The Fermanagh side are currently riding on the crest of a wave - unbeaten in their league. They will travel with confidence so this could be a cracker with home advantage possibly making the difference.

Prediction: Ardmore.

Churchill v Basement

The Wilton Park outfit are not having a great season, lying in mid table in the First Division. They have, however, some decent players in their line up and won’t go down without a fight.

The visitors progressed in the Cochrane Cup last week, winning 2-0. They are reportedly a decent side and may prove to good for the home side.

Prediction: Basement.

Drummond v Annaghy Utd Res

The men from Limavady are having a superb season and they are well capable of winning something this season.

Credit must go to their management team who have brought in a number of young and exciting players in Conor Kelly and Jason Payne, who have been superb at the back.

Up front they have danger men in Kealan Doherty and Ryan McCreadie and their opponents are a bit of an unknown quantity but the home side should prove to strong.

Glendermott v Kelvin Old Boys

The Waterside outfit are in third position in Division One. They had an excellent win in the previous round and with local support they will fancy their chances.

Kelvin are coming into this one after an 8-1 cup win last week. They have a decent record in this competition and may book their place in the next round.

Prediction: Kelvin Old Boys.

Irvinestown Wanderers v Tullyally

The Fermanagh and Western league side had a big 7-1 cup win last week and with home advantage they will be fancying their chances of progressing.

Tullyally have proved on a number of occasions this season that when they are on their game they are capable of beating anyone - if they have a good day they may progress.

Prediction: Tullyally.

Windmill Stars v BBOB

The home side are doing well in their league and they have picked up some good results in recent weeks so they have to be respected.

The Old Boys will have to show a big improvement from last week where they maybe took Irish Street as a formality. They will have to be at their best.
