Lennon reflects on historic win

LURGAN man Neil Lennon was reflecting today on an historic first away win for his club Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Hoops manager watched his team come from 2-1 down to beat Spartak Moscow in Russia 3-2 thanks to a great winner from Georgios Samaras.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the players. They were magnificent,” said Lennon. “They played magnificent football at a very difficult venue against an excellent side.

“It’s just a huge step for the club psychologically and for the players.

“It’s our first away win in the Champions League so we’ve broken the record now and we’re unbeaten in about seven games in Europe which is fantastic.”

Next up in the group is a dream home clash against the mighty Barcelona.
