Larne to face Welders in Intermediate Cup

Larne have been handed an away tie to HW Welders in the next round of the Intermediate Cup.

The fourth-round encounter, set to be played on January 25 (1:30 pm), has been dubbed ‘tie of the round’ by the tournament organisers.

Davy McAlinden’s men made sure their name was in the hat thanks to Saturday’s 2-1 success away to Chimney Corner.

Larne’s last trip to Tillysburn came in a league match in August when substitute Steven Garrett scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for the Belfast side. The feisty Championship 1 clash produced no less than 11 yellow cards and one red.
