Guy leads Glenavon charge
Warrenpoint struck the front in controversial circumstances just before the break when the referee’s assistant spotted an infringement in the area involving Glenavon defender Gareth McKeown. A penalty was awarded which brought uproar from the fans and the Glenavon bench but McCabe kept his cool to slot in the opener.
It could have been worse on the home team had Hughes made the most of breaking clear to fire past Coleman but the ball rebounded off the base of the post.

Bates made it 3-1 as he raced clear to round the keeper and slot home on 88 minutes.
