Glebe overcome potential banana-skin

The Glebe saw off the visitors 4-1 to progress to the latter stages.

Glebe boss Gary Scott was happy with the result and performance of his side.

“Saturday was very good,” he told Times Sport.

“I am more than impressed with how things are going.

“Killyleagh are cup specialists and have a great record in this competition but I have to say I thought we were comfortable.

“Ian Parkhill has found his shooting boots and put us 1-0 up with a fine finish.

“They equalised before Nigel Turner restored our lead.

“Jackie Morrison then scored his first goal for the first team to make it 3-1.

“Our final goal came from Peter Kennoway after a fine solo run.

“It was a job well done and that is us into the last eight which is great for the club.”

Next up for Glebe is Saturday’s home league game against Loughgall.

Glebe will be hoping to keep the momentum going after winning last time out in the Championship against the Welders.

“We can put the cup to the back of our heads now,” said Scott.

“The focus is on Loughgall.

“It is important for us to maintain the momentum.

“Everything from the coaching field onto the pitch has been first class.

“Results will follow if we keep doing the right things.

“We have some faces back too so the squad is almost at full strength which gives me a headache as manager, but it’s a nice headache.”
