Carniny coaches on track for qualifications

CARNINY Amateur and Youth FC have saw the past few months witness the quality of coaching further enhanced with the club now boasting NINE coaches within Ballymena’s largest football set up either with the first part (C Certificate) or having completed their UEFA ‘B’ Licence coaching qualification.

Carniny have always strived to promote not only the club but their coaching staff also and have been successful in seeking out various funding opportunities to cover costs of the courses which can be quite expensive.

The club have also followed up the coaching bursaries with visits to professional clubs in the mainland thanks to their former club development officer the late Bob Mullan who arranged for visits to Liverpool, Leeds Utd, Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Port Vale by the Reds’ up and coming coaches.

The recently forged relationship with Ballymena United has saw five Carniny coaches involved with the Sky Blues 16s and 17s sides whilst their former FDC chief and youth coach Clifford Adams took on the role of Ballymena Reserves manager at the start of the season and was joined by another FDC Coach, Darren Millar.

Any person who would be interested in taking up coaching at Carniny and would appreciate help with the course costs as well as the possibility of experiencing visits to other clubs should contact club secretary Billy O’Flaherty on 07850669666 for details.
