Wellington Rec brought what was hardly one of their more distinguished seasons to an official end with their annual awards dinner held in their club rooms, writes Alan Hall.

Rec finished second-bottom of Division 1A with only nine points out of a possible 78.

And it sums up Wellington’s plight when their leading goalscorer was Ellis Cahoon, who played most of the season in the back four; the Millbrookers only scoring 19 times in their 26 match league programme.

Cahoon also got the vote for the Players’ Player of the Year.

The awards were presented by first-team manager, Graham McConnell.

Firsts: Player of the Year – Scott Todd; Players’ Player of the Year – Ellis Cahoon; Leading Goalscorer – Ellis Cahoon; Young Player of the Year – James Mundell; Clubman of the Year – Ian Campbell.

Seconds: Player of the Year – Ryan McDonald; Players Player of the Year – James Mundell; Leading Goalscorer – Ryan McDonald.
