Festival of Pool to begin soon

Six free play hired in pool tables will be installed in Ballymena United Sports and Social Club on Monday next for Ballymena Annual Pool Festival.

The club’s own two pool tables will also be used as Free Play for all competitions.

The eight pool tables in one venue provide an exciting atmosphere which is appreciated by all the players.

Praise and appreciation must go to the Social Club who pay the Hire Fee for the six tables, make their own two tables Free Play, brush, iron and maintain the pool tables at no cost to the organisations using the venue.

The festival runs for three weeks using 19 of the 21 days.

The competitions are as listed, with Northern Ireland Special Pool playing mid day for three days and each Sunday being an all day and evening affair.

Monday 18th January to Wednesday 20th, Ballymena Towers Knockout Cup and Shield Competitions.

Thursday 21st is Town and Country League Individuals followed by The Towers Seniors Competition on Friday night.

The Northern Ireland Pool Association use all day and evening Sundays for 24th Jan - NIPA Interleague, 31st Jan = NIPA Under 21's and 7th Feb

- NIPS Doubles. They also use Sat 6th Feb (daytime only) for the NIPA Seniors.

Town & Country Guinness Cup is played on Mon 25th Jan Ballymena Towers Premier Indivuals Tue 26th Jan and Div 1 Indivudals Wed 27th Jan Town & Country Doubles is on Thurs 28th Jan Friday 29th January is The Festival open Singles competition with 400 prize money.

The entry fee for this OPEN competition is 15 with a 5 refund if paid on or before Sunday 24th January. Entries and payment will be accepted by authorised Club Personnel.

Towers Captains Night competition follows on Mon 1st Feb On Tue, Wed and Thurs 2nd to 4th inclusive N. I. Special Pool will play The N. I. Team Cup during the day and Towers League 3-A-Sides being played in those evenings The Towers Doubles is on Fri 5th Feb.
