Meet the Foyle Cricket Team

FOYLE and Londonderry College Cricket coach Gerald McCarter gives his low down on his squad, which features in Friday's Ulster Bank Schools Cup Final against Sullivan Upper.

Nick Donnell (Captain) - Nick is skipper and an aggressive cricketer. He has represented Ulster and Ireland Schools and is sure to be a big influence in the final. He is a talented all round sportsman.

Marc Fleming - Marc is vice-captain, he is a fine left hand opening bat and his off spin bowling has really developed this season. Marc had a good final last season against RBAI, and will hope for a repeat on Friday.

David Murdock - David is a very talented sportsman. He has scored a lot of runs this season as an opening bat and has also adapted to his new role of wicket keeper.

Graeme McCarter - Graeme is a formidable cricketer who has represented Ulster and Ireland Schools. He also took part in the Under 19 World Cup in New Zealand in January, Foyle supporters will hope for a big game from him.

Andrew Clarke - Andrew is another of Foyle's representative players having played for Ireland Under 17 in the 2009 season. He is a technically correct batsman and a deceptive medium pace bowler. He bowled a fine spell in the semi-final win over Methody.

Jack Glenn - Jack played for Ulster Schools Under 15 last summer and has scored a lot of runs this season. He has a good array of shots and is also a leg spinner who turns the ball sharply.

Christopher Campbell - Christopher took the winning catch in last season's final. He has a calm temperament and has produced some important innings this season. He is also a good medium pace bowler.

Andrew Fleming - This teenager played for Ulster Schools Under 15 last season. He is a good medium pace bowler and right hand bat. Andrew played an important part in the final five overs in the semi-final to ensure Foyle had a good total to defend.

Thomas Wray - Thomas is a right hand batsman and a fine fielder. He has a hard fast throw and is an excellent boundary fielder. Recently batted very well again Wallace High School.

Jordan Austin - Jordan is the youngest of the Foyle players. His last wicket stand with Andrew Fleming against Methody was vital in pushing the Foyle total up. He is an excellent fielder and has taken some important catches during the Cup run.

Robbie Logue - Robbie is a right hand batsman and ively fieider. He is quick and alert and a threat to the batsman when fielding.

Mark O'Neill - Mark is an important member of the squad and can 'slot in' if a vacancy occurs.
