Christie Memorial win ASDA Coleraine Kwik Cricket Festival

Christie Memorial Primary School are the Asda Coleraine Boys Kwik Cricket champions for 2013.

Christie overcame the challenge of Portrush PS in the final in what turned out to be a great days cricket hosted at Coleraine Cricket Club. With teams also coming from Cullycapple PS, Castleroe PS, Harpurs Hill PS, Millburn PS and Irish Society PS, resulting in over 100 boys taking part.

All the children now have the opportunity to attend Coleraine Cricket Clubs junior coaching programme each Friday night from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

Asda once again sponsored the Festival and their support for Kwik Cricket has been invaluable and Sheila Palmer, Asda was on hand to present the trophy to winning captain Matthew Boyd. The competition was organised by Coleraine Cricket Club and Coleraine Borough Council’s Sports Development Unit.

Christie Memorial Primary School will now have the opportunity to represent Coleraine at the National finals at Stormont Cricket Grounds, Belfast.
