LOUGHANREAGH finally secured their 28th North West Division One title with victory away at Marian last week.

The Windyhall outfit, who won the title 11 years in succession from 1979/80 to 1990/91, have led the way at the top of the league for most of the season, and are now 13 points ahead of last season's winners and nearest challengers Ballinrees.

They picked up 6.5 points following their 11 shot win last week.Alan Irwin got them off and running with a seven shot win over Jim McGarry before Ian Ross added another three to their total with victory over Terrance McGarry.

After the break John Rainey and Alastair Steele shared the spoils before Edwin Irwin secured the win and the title for his side as he edged out Brian McAlary by one shot.

Ballinrees secured second spot as they beat Boveedy by 14-shots. Victor Millen made a good start for the hosts beating Stephen White by nine and Jonathon Calvin added to their lead with a five shot victory over Nigel Gamble.

William Calvin squeezed out Alan Catherwood by a single shot after the break before Ronnie Catherwood pulled a point back for Boveedy as he beat Kenny McNeill by the same margin.

Dunluce make up the top three after they beat Moneydig and there was heartache for Montra as they were relegated to Division Two following their defeat at Second Kilrea, no further details were received.

St Mary's will replace Montra in Division One as their promotion charge showed no signs of stopping away to Killowen. The Division Two champions picked up another six points following their seven shot win.

Ronnie Milliken just got the better of Billy Boyce by a single shot and John Campbell saw off Sadie Davis by nine to put the visitors in control at the break.

Joe Davis hit back for Killowen with a six shot win over Arthur Rainey, but Declan McCann's three shot win over Sammy Connor jnr wrapped up the win for St Mary's.

First Coleraine opened up six point gap in second place following their 10-shot win over derby rivals New Row.

Robert Campbell beat Joe Elkin by three and Bryan Shaw won by seven over Tommy Moffatt to give the hosts a 10 shot lead at the break.

Colin Hutchinson added another two to First Coleraine's total as he beat Jonathan Elder before Robin Humphries pulled a point back for the visitors as he beat Jim Campbell by the same margin.

Drumreagh leapfrogged opponents Castlerock into third as they beat them by 26-shots at home. It was a close affair in the first half as Edwin Jackson edged out Ronnie Steele by a single shot and the game between Raymond Clyde and Brian Wilson ended all square.

It was a different game after the break though as Carson Boyd beat Victor Callaghan by 10 shots and Brian Taggart recorded an excellent 15-shot win over Gary Gaile.
