Blues aim to topple Glens

VICTORY at The Oval tonight for Linfield would go a long way to lift the gloom hanging over Windsor Park.

The rearranged match from Boxing Day is massive for both teams. The Glens can go top while the Blues can end a torrid league run which has seen then take just one point from a possible 12.

"People are talking about pressure but it's nothing new," says boss David Jeffrey. "There always seems to be something at stake when the Big Two meet.

"However, there is no getting away from the fact we are having a poor run and recent results show that we need to improve. Tonight we will have all the usual ingredients of a local derby - pride, passion and a desire to win."

Although Linfield are fourth in the table they have played three games less than the leaders Crusaders so win tonight would certainly put them right back in contention.
