EAST Antrim MX rider Martin Barr had a very successful weekend at Landrake, Devon taking overall victory in the British two stroke championship races and closing the gap in the Red Bull Pro national series to two points off the leader Bank Brown.

Riding the PAR Honda’s his weekend started on Saturday in the two stroke championship races where he took two wins and a second.

In Sunday’s Pro National qualifying Barr was ninth fastest. In his opening race he made the worst possible start crashing twice on lap two.

After gathering himself up he put his head down and by the chequered flag had regained a lot of lost ground to finish fourth.

Race two was a complete contrast with the local man taking the lead from the drop of the flag, which he held to the finish. “I was gutted after race one but race two more than made up for the earlier disappointment,” he said.
