But could we see Robbie Williams dueting with Vladimir Putin this year? The bookies certainly think so.

While the 2018 opening ceremony is tipped to be a much more low-key affair, there will be interest for British viewers with Williams set to headline.

And if the excitement of the former Take That man's presence isn't enough, the bookmakers have a number of interesting bets on offer to add an extra edge to the pre-football festival.

Here's just some of the markets on offer:

What will he sing?

There's plenty of markets available on this front.

Williams' set-list for the ceremony is yet to be confirmed, but you can get odds of 8/11 for him to start with crowd-pleaser Let Me Entertain You.

Rock DJ (7/2) and Party Like a Russian (9/2) are also highly-tipped to be his starting song.

Similar odds can be found for his final song, while it is 66/1 for Williams to end his set with a cover of The Lightning Seeds' Three Lions.

Will he duet?

It could be that Williams isn't alone on stage - with Will Smith the 8/1 favourite to join him in a duet.

An appearance from any member of Take That is ranked as an outside bet at 16/1 with John Barnes (50/1) also an option.

There are even odds for Williams to duet with Vladimir Putin (33/1), Harry Kane (100/1) and Sam Allardyce (250/1).

What about his look?

Markets are available on Williams' outfit, hair and footwear.

He's 3/1 to perform in an England shirt or 33/1 to take to the stage in a full kit.

If he wants to embrace the Russian attire, Williams could don a fur coat (25/1) and ski boots (100/1).

Crocs are an outside footwear bet at 100/1 while it's 33/1 for the singer to rock a patriotic red and white mohican.
