ESSENTIAL maintenance work to reduce the risk of flooding in Creggan will take place over the next four months and will involve the temporary closure of Southway.

It will involve the installation of a new storm sewer and associated manholes, and it is anticipated that it will take approximately four months to complete.

Work is programmed to start on Southway, at the junction with Lonemoor Road on April 8.

The work will then progress along Southway, onto the Circular Road, finishing at the junction with Lislane Drive.

A temporary closure of Southway, at the junction with Lonemoor Road will be required to facilitate the installation of pipework, and the Circular Road will be closed to through traffic from the junction with Southway to the junction with Lislane Drive.

Advanced notice signs will be erected to advise the public of the dates of closures and diversionary routes will be clearly signposted.
