Woman shaken in motoring incident

A WOMAN was left badly shaken after a man tried to open her car door while she was stopped in traffic in Lurgan’s Union Street.

A man tried to open the passenger door of her car and told the female driver her car was leaking petrol.

The woman didn’t stop and when she checked her car she found there was no leakage.

The incident happened last Friday (May 31) at around 3.15pm.

The man was in the vicinity of the bookmakers with two other men.

He is described as being in his late 20s, of slim build with short, dark hair.

Police are reminding motorists to be security conscious when travelling in their vehicles.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

Officers urged motorists to heed the following advice: keep your doors locked; keep your windows up at all times; keep all valuables out of sight; park in well lit, busy areas or car parks; when approaching your parked vehicle, be alert; avoid listening to MP3 players as you approach the car - it distracts you from potential threats; never leave keys in the ignition or the engine running in an unattended vehicle; always lock your car.
