Mr O’Dowd replied: “Savings on goods and services by Education and Library Boards have only been monitored since the Savings Delivery Plan was established in 2011/12.” He revealed WELB saved £428k last year.

The savings relate to WELB’s recurrent expenditure only, and do not include capital expenditure or schools delegated budgets.
