Votes needed for city’s good cause projects

TWO groups in the city need votes in the National Lottery Awards 2011, which recognise the difference that Lottery-funded projects make to local communities.

One is the inter-generational WW1 shared history project, We Were Brothers, which is in the Best Heritage Project category. It is a play, a DVD, a book, and interactive website remembering the heritage of soldiers from both the Unionist and the Nationalist traditions who served side by side in WW1. The group which instigated it is Handful Productions.

The other is Hands That Talk which is in the Best Voluntary/Charity Project category. Hands That Talk improves the quality of life for deaf people by providing access to employment, education and services.
