Fortunately as the party made its way to the Boyne site, the weather became much better with the group arriving at the first stop in bright sunshine.

All enjoyed an excellent and informative tour of the museum at the Boyne with a small party visiting the tree planted in memory of the Late Bro George Dawson.

Following a hearty meal in the restaurant and a dander around the beautiful gardens on the site the party departed for the Cottage.

On arrival at the Cottage the party was entertained to a lovely tea by the lady of the cottage Hilda who also gave a talk on the local history of the cottage and the surrounding area.

All then went on a tour of the cottage but to do justice to the place, much more time would need

to be spent just taking in all that there is to see.

As the cottage is situated in the apple growing region of the province, quite a number of the party availed themselves of the apples on sale. A party of happy and well fed travellers again boarded the bus and made the journey home to Ballymoney.
