Mayor urges victims of violent crime to avail of important service
The first citizen urged people to avail of the important service, stating: “This is a free service provided by Victim Support Northern Ireland for victims who are injured through violent crime.”
Victim Support NI Foyle Office Manager Oonagh Doherty said: “We are delighted to be joined by the Mayor today to launch our bus shelter ad campaign, which will be visible to commuters in the Foyle area over the next two weeks.”

Hide AdMayor Reilly added: “I would encourage victims in the city and beyond to use this service to get the support and advice they need, including assistance in claiming compensation for criminal injury.”
Ms Doherty continued: “Working in partnership with Compensation Services we were able to process over 1,800 initial applications for Criminal Injuries Compensation last year alone.
“Our clients injured through violent crime received a total of £4.8 million in compensation to help them rebuild their lives after crime.”
