“I was delighted that Va-nessa Markey gave a com-mitment that a bigger effort would be put in to promoting the Antrim Coast and Glens in the incoming years.

“This was probably the m o s t i m p o r ta nt tou r i s t meeting held int he Glens for some time and it is one I be-lieve will prove to be of great help in the tourist industry,” Mr McMullan said.

“I also welcome the fact that Tourism Ireland have promised to return to the ar-ea to assist in developing the powers that the new councils

will have to develop tourism.

One of the major points they pointed out was how the tourist trade operates in the South in order to get the product right. This has been something that Sinn Féin has been stating to the Minister for some time and it is now time she took notice of the experts and developed tour-ism on an all-Ireland basis.”
