Super Sue picks up volunteer award!

SUE McCreadie is all full of smiles after picking up a volunteering award from the Early Years organisation.

Sue has been involved with Harpur’s Hill Children and Family centre for the past four years.

As a valued member of the team, Sue’s colleagues decided to nominate her for the award, and she was delighted to win the Outstanding Volunteer Helper award.

She has first hand experience of the services offered by the local centre, as she attended many of the programmes after having her second child.

It was at the centre that Sue was encouraged to take an NVQ in childcare.

She used the Centre as her placement and volunteered her services over and above the required placement time.

Sue enjoyed the NVQ level two so much that she funded herself to undertake the level three NVQ. She is currently completing the course and is carrying out another placement at Harpur’s Hill, making her a valued member of the team.

Sue’s colleagues describe her as a “great advocate for the Centre”. She encourages parents to take advantage of the services on offer.
