Storey raises importance of Causeway

North Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has raised the strategic importance of the Causeway Hospital during a statement by the new health Minister Michelle ONeill.

The Minister was making a statement to the Assembly on waiting times on Monday.

Commenting the former Ballymoney councillor, Mervyn Storey said: “I welcomed to opportunity to raise on the floor of the Assembly the strategic importance of the Causeway Hospital in any plans that the Minister has in relation to an elective care plan.

“I welcome the Ministers comments in the Assembly today that the future is not about closure but about restructuring of services.

“It is vital that the Causeway plays a central role in any restructuring.

“I have already written to the Minister and requested to meet with her on not only the Causeway but also in relation to The Robinson, Dalriada, and the Roddens.”
