St John’s Primary School and Carnlough Community Nursery celebrated World Book Month in style recently.
All children and teachers dressed up as their favourite book characters and had a special assembly to talk about their characters.
Children went to tremendous effort to make their own costumes such as ‘Little Miss Sunshine, Matilda, Mrs Twit and Esio Trot to name a few.
Reading was promoted throughout the school during the month with a book fair and different activities for each Key Stage. The nursery had a character catwalk fashion show, P1 and P2 had a brilliant bedtime story session in the evening, and Key Stage One had a book treasure hunt.
P4 also had a bun sale to raise funds for Trocaire.
