Spent too much on honeymoon

Spending too much while on honeymoon meant that a 36-year-old man missed an insurance payment and was driving while uninsured on October 18 last year.

He was also given six points and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard he was stopped on the Cranny Road, Portadown, and it transpired he was not insured because of a missed payment. He had no previous convictions.

A barrister representing the defendant said his client had been driving for ten years with a clear record.

He explained that at the time Quinn had just got married and on honeymoon he spent more than he thought and was overdrawn.

The lawyer added that Quinn had moved in with his wife and was written to by the insurance company at his previous address. He was now insured.
