Sovereign Grand Master’s first visit to RBP113

THE members of RBP 113 welcomed a special guest to their April meeting and election of officers on Thursday evening last, April 11, namely the Sovereign Grand Master, Millar Farr, who was making his first ever visit to the Preceptory.

The Worshipful Master, Officers and Sir Knights of RBP 113 met in the historic surroundings of the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall on at 7.30pm, and the Worshipful Master Gordon Porter welcomed everyone to the meeting, and offered a special welcome to the guest of Honour, the Sovereign Grand Master of the Royal Black, Mr Millar Farr, before also welcoming Sir Knights from Fawney Fort RBP143, RBP 94 Killaloo and RBP 37 from Coleraine, who were thanked for travelling to the meeting.

Following the formal welcome, the business of the meeting was to conduct the Installation of Officers and to celebrate the presentation of nine Red Cross certificates to members. The Worshipful Master asked the Sovereign Grand Master to take the chair and Sir Knight David Hay, the Deputy County Grand Master to appoint the installing team, following which the installation of officers was carried out to a very high standard.

Deputy Master John Thompson of RBP 113 proposed a vote of thanks to the installing team, seconded by Sir Knight and Chaplain Victor Wray and the officers suitably replied.

The Sovereign GM presented nine members with Red Cross certificates, saying it was an honour and pleasure to present them and he congratulated the Siir Knights for achieving the highest degree in the Royal Black Preceptory. The WM presented the Sovg Grand Master with a token of appreciation to mark his visit and the Chaplain said The Grace and brought the meeting to a close with a prayer and everyone was invited to supper by Worshipful Master Porter.
