Small act of remembrance takes place at Lisburn war memorial as Poppy Appeal is launched

Lisburn's Royal British Legion poppy appeal was launched at a short act of remembrance held at Lisburn War Memorial.

On Saturday, Chairman of Lisburn Branch of the Royal British Legion, Gordon Rogan led the remembrance service and also gave the exhortation.

The last post and reveille was played by buglers Colin Elliott and Jeffrey McCullough.

Following the act of remembrance perpetuating the memory of the fallen, remembrance crosses were placed by Councillor Brian Bloomfield MBE (Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council) and men and women from Lisburn Branch of the Royal British Legion.
