Respect disabled car parking spaces at Craigavon Hospital

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust is appealing for drivers to respect the designated disabled car parking spaces on both Craigavon and Daisy Hill Hospital sites.

Hospital staff are reporting that disabled spaces and drop-off points on both sites are being abused as well as the emergency spaces at the front of Daisy Hill - despite the Porters applying stickers on car window screens

Esther Gishkori, Director for Acute Services at the Southern Health and Social Care Trust says: “As demands on our services continually increase and our hospitals are so busy, we are continually looking for ways to manage traffic congestion.

“In recent years we have introduced a number of new spaces to improve access for all patients and have increased the number of disabled spaces for people with mobility difficulties.

“However, we are well aware that some drivers with mobility issues are having difficulty finding accessible car parking, making them late for important appointments and causing great inconvenience. I appeal to people who do not have a blue badge to have more consideration by parking that little bit further away to ensure that everyone can access the services they need.”
