Pupils raise over £4,000 for LEPRA

IN March the pupils of Harmony Hill Primary School raised the fantastic sum of £4282.30 for the work of LEPRA Health in Action.

LEPRA is a medical development charity, working to cure and care for people who have leprosy - not the disease of the past as is often thought. It is finding 155,000 new cases of leprosy each year in India alone, and a significant number of these are young people under the age of 14.

The pupils of Harmony Hill, with the support of their family and friends, have made a difference to the lives of 203 such individuals.

Audrey Heslip said: “This effort is a terrific example of the caring ethos which prevails at Harmony Hill Primary School. For more information go to www.leprahealthinaction.org
