Pupils become super sleuths at the university
The budding supersleuths were given the opportunity to use forensic chemistry techniques to help identify the perpetrator of a crime.
The CSI day was part of the Step-Up programme’s ‘Engaging Young Minds’ initiative which is an innovative programme for primary school pupils launched by Step-Up at the University of Ulster.

Hide AdPrimary school pupils were given the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of activities including interactive lectures, poster competitions, quizzes and science fairs. The activities aimed to raise their educational aspirations and to help encourage participation in science subjects.
Dr Damian O’Kane, Head of Access and Educational Partnerships said: “We aim to engage pupils in science and related disciplines at an early age.
“If we can enthuse, encourage and support pupils in our primary schools to study science subjects throughout their educational career then we can have a major impact on the economic development of Northern Ireland.”
