O’Loan: Full co-operation to solve German backpacker murder

SDLP North Antrim MLA Declan O’Loan has urged the public to co-operate fully with police to help to finally solve the long overdue case of the murder of Inga Maria Hauser, whose body was found in Ballypatrick Forest, Ballycastle in 1988.

He said “This must be the most terrible ordeal for Ms Hauser’s family, who have spent the past twenty three years wondering who was responsible for so brutally taking the life of their young daughter. They continue to endure this suffering.

“I feel very strongly about this case and would urge people to co-operate fully with police throughout their investigations. It is an absolute public duty to ensure that any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is passed onto the police immediately to bring this case to a long awaited close.

“This terrible incident has not only darkened the lives of Ms Hauser’s family but it has left a shadow over the people in this area of North Antrim, and this shadow will remain until the individual or individuals involved are caught and brought to justice.

“I cannot emphasise enough how important it is that people come forward with any information they may have.”
