Speaking after a tour of the plant, Mr Nicholson said: “It was great to be back at Ballyrashane Creamery recently to view the company’s latest investment – a state of the art butter facility which is now recognised as one of the best in Europe.

“A development of this scale represents a significant investment in the future and will help to further drive exports to a range of markets.

“In addition to learning more about the company’s plans for the future this visit was also a useful opportunity to discuss the situation facing the dairy industry as a whole with one of our most successful agri-food companies.” “My last visit to Ballyrashane Creamery coincided with the completion of the company’s anaerobic digester and I have been very impressed by the latest strategic investment in the new butter facility. The continued expansion of the business is good news for the company’s 150 staff, the 107 farmers who supply milk and for the wider economy of the area.

“I commend the team at Ballyrashane Creamery for their on-going focus on innovation and wish them continued success for the future.”
