Police have thanked the Causeway Coast and Glens public and visitors after the summer season was brought to its usual roaring end with the Airwaves Airshow at the weekend.

Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “I would like to thank residents and visitors to the north coast for working well with police over the summer months. While the weather may have been disappointing, the area still attracted hundreds of thousands of summer visitors.

“We worked hard to keep those visitors and residents safe and, by and large, succeeded.

“We police with the community and take an approach which reflects the broadly good natured north coast atmosphere.

Crime clearly continues over the summer and issues emerge for police and communities, but we can look back at a generally positive summer for 2015.”
